How to Add a Widget.

iPhone lets only you put widgets on your screens, so Widgeting can’t place them for you. It takes a few seconds, and the app walks you through the same steps after you save a design.

On the Home Screen

  1. Touch and hold your Home Screen. Hold an empty spot until the icons jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget. Top left corner of the screen.
  3. Search for Widgeting. Then tap it in the results.
  4. Swipe to Custom Small, Medium or Large. Tap Add Widget. It shows your newest design of that size.
  5. To switch designs, touch and hold it. Tap Edit Widget, then choose a design.

On the Lock Screen

  1. Touch and hold your Lock Screen. Unlock with Face ID first, then hold until Customize appears.
  2. Tap Customize, then Lock Screen. Your Lock Screen opens for editing.
  3. Tap the widget area. The space under the clock, or the line above it for an inline widget.
  4. Choose Widgeting, then Custom Circular, Rectangular or Inline. It shows your newest design of that size.
  5. To switch designs, tap the widget. While you customize, tap it, then choose a design.

Ready-Made Widgets

The Daily Dashboard, Agenda, Weather and Date work without a design. Add one the same way, choosing it instead of Custom. Its calendars, place, units and colors are set on the Home Screen: touch and hold it, then tap Edit Widget.

Tap an event, a reminder or the weather in a widget to open Calendar, Reminders or Weather. Tap anything else in a Custom widget to open its design in Widgeting.

The word “Widgeting” under each Home Screen widget is the app’s name. iPhone adds it to every widget; it isn’t part of your design.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find Widgeting in the widget list

Open Widgeting once, then search for it again in the widget list. Widgeting needs an iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

A widget says “Allow calendar access in Widgeting”

Open Widgeting and allow access when it asks. If you said no before, turn it on in iPhone Settings, under Apps, then Widgeting. The same goes for Reminders, Health, location and Apple Music.

My widget shows a different design

A new Custom widget shows your newest design of its size. To pick another, touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, then choose a design. On the Lock Screen, tap the widget while you customize.

The weather looks out of date

iPhone decides exactly when widgets update. Widgeting asks for new weather every 60 minutes, or every 30 or 45 with Pro, and a widget says how old the weather is when an update is late.

My see-through background doesn’t line up

Set it up again in Widgeting’s Settings, under See-Through Backgrounds, after you move widgets or change your wallpaper. Use the Default or Dark Home Screen look with Perspective Zoom off; the Tinted and Clear looks replace a widget’s background. See-through backgrounds are part of Widgeting Pro.
